INFORMATION BULLETIN
JUNE 23, 2022
UNEMPLOYMENT ISSUES: Each time there is a
layoff, we distribute a bulletin with step by step instructions on how to file unemployment.
The bulletins are distributed in the plant, posted on our Facebook page and posted
on our website, too; yet with each layoff, we are inundated with unemployment
issues that in most cases could have been avoided if people had followed our
instructions. Thanks to Ohio Rep Joe Miller, we were able to get assistance from
the Assistant Director of ODJFS during the pandemic but now that the pandemic
is “over”, we are losing his help. Moving forward, members must read the
bulletin with the unemployment instructions and follow them step by step
because if there is an error in your claim, you will be left to the mercy of
your processing center. Without the help of the ODJFS, we are unable to help
with most issues. Here are a few places you may need to contact with certain
issues you’re having:
CLAIMS
QUESTIONS:
Call the processing center and schedule a return call from the adjudication
team. Alternative option: the “Submit a Question” button at unemploymenthelp.ohio.gov/employee. If you click it, you’ll
be taken to an online form that allows you to provide detailed information
about your issue(s). Submitted forms are directed to the adjudication queue for
response. When they select the “submit a question online” that will
generate a notification directly to a team member for follow-up.
OH-ID
ISSUES:
Call 1-877-644-6562.
IDENTITY
AUDITS:
Mail documentation to jfs.ui_respond@jfs.ohio.gov. Be sure your images
are legible and in Microsoft Word or Paint format or they won’t be processed.
If the address on your driver’s license differs from the address on your check,
you will also need to submit a utility bill or another household bill with your
new address.
