Dedication of Eric Barne's Heroes Walk - Lorain Oh
Member's of UAW Local 2000 joined community leaders, veterans both past and present as well as members of the community in dedicating the Eric Barnes Heroes Walk in Lorain, Ohio on Veteran's Day November 12, 2012.
The Eric Barnes’ Heroes Walk pays tribute to Lorain soldiers who lost their lives in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
The walkway is named after Airman First Class Eric Barnes, a 2004 Admiral King graduate killed in Iraq in 2007. A memorial to Barnes stands in Settlers Watch.
Heroes Walk honors U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. David R. Hall, Marine Lance Cpl. Joseph Ryan Giese, Army Sgt. Bruce Horner and Sgt. Louis Torres.
The 150-foot walkway connects Settlers Watch, at Oberlin Avenue and Second Street, with the adjacent Admiral Ernest J. King tribute site, at Hamilton Avenue and First Street.
