INFORMATION BULLETIN – www.uawlocal2000 – MARCH 4, 2022 PLEASE FOLLOW THE UNEMPLOYMENT INSTRUCTIONS BELOW CAREFULLY TO AVOID YOUR BENEFITS BEING HELD UP. ATTENTION NEW MEMBERS: If you intend to file benefits for a partial week you will file without a mass layoff number. Please contact your processing center to file. ALL MEMBERS: Do not claim any profit sharing as earnings when you claim your layoff week. Also, if you get to a point that you’re not sure how to answer something, exit the system and contact your processing center on Monday. File for unemployment benefits online at http://unemployment.ohio.gov. If you do not have internet access, call your processing center (the number is located on correspondence you’ve received from the ODJFS). ODJFS business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, except holidays. File for unemployment benefits using Mass Layoff # 2200062. Your last day worked is 03/04/2022 and your return to work date is 03/14/2022. PLEASE NOTE: You will need to call your processing center or visit the ODJFS web site TWO TIMES to file for unemployment benefits: The first time to reopen or restart your application for benefits and the second time to claim your layoff weeks (see below): 1. SUNDAY, MARCH 6, 2022 – Open or restart APPLICATION for benefits EFFECTIVE 3/6/22. OPTION 1: IF ANY OTHER DATE BESIDES 3/6/22 IS OFFERED, RETURN TO THE MAIN MENU, LOG OUT (OR HANG UP IF CALLING TO FILE) AND CALL YOUR PROCESSING CENTER AND ASK THEM TO REOPEN YOUR APPLICATION FOR BENEFITS EFFECTIVE 3/6/22. When you call, please do not tell them you want to “file a claim” or they will pull one of your weeks hanging out from your last layoff and file it, meaning there will be an overpayment because ANY OTHER WEEK BESIDES 3/6/22 IS NOT THE CORRECT DATE. OPTION 2: IF WEEK ENDING 3/5/22 IS THE ONLY WEEK SHOWING, YOU CAN WAIT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY 3/13/22 AND BY THEN WEEK 3/12/22 SHOULD BE SHOWING. CLICK ON 3/12/22 AND CHOOSE OPTION TO RESTART AND FILE WEEKLY CLAIM FOR WEEK ENDING 3/12/22. IT SHOULD ALLOW YOU TO BOTH OPEN YOUR APPLICATION AND FILE A CLAIM FOR WEEK ENDING 3/12/22 IN THE SAME SESSION. 2. SUNDAY, MARCH 13, 2022 – Claim layoff week (week ending 03/12/2022). Please DO NOT do these things when filing: DO NOT fill out the information about the union hiring hall. UAW LOCAL 2000 IS NOT A HIRING HALL. Please do not check ANY boxes or fill in ANY information at all in the union section. DO NOT answer “no” to the job search question. Whether or not you have a mass layoff number, if they ask for jobs you applied for, you need to write FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND 2200062 IN THE JOB FIELD. If you have any doubt at all about what you’re doing throughout the filing process, hang up or log out and call the union hall for assistance. It is easier for us to help you file than it is to get your claims fixed. WAITING WEEK INFORMATION: Unit 1 OHAP members who were on layoff status and serving their waiting week will be denied unemployment. You must go to the ODJFS web site and print your unemployment benefit payment documents showing ZERO amount paid as well as the document under the “Claim Details” section, “View Claim Summary/Payment History” that shows “WW Served” as the most current status and take them to Human Resources to sign up for your SUB pay. INFORMATION BULLETIN – www.uawlocal2000 – MAY 17, 2021 UNEMPLOYMENT INSTRUCTIONS File for unemployment benefits online at http://unemployment.ohio.gov. If you do not have internet access, call your processing center (the number is located on correspondence you’ve received from the ODJFS). ODJFS business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, except holidays. Please follow the instructions CAREFULLY below: File for unemployment benefits using Mass Layoff # 2100183. Your last day worked is 05/21/2021 and your return to work date for unemployment purposes is 05/31/2021 (your actual return to work date is 6/1/21 because 5/31 is the Memorial Day holiday). PLEASE NOTE: You will need to call your processing center or visit the ODJFS web site * T W I C E * – the first time to reopen or restart your application for benefits and the second time to claim your layoff week (see below): 1. SUNDAY, MAY 23, 2021 – Open or restart application for benefits 2. SUNDAY, MAY 30, 2021 – Claim layoff week (week ending 05/29/2021) If you have any doubt at all about what you’re doing throughout the filing process, please hang up or log out and call the union hall for assistance. It is easier for us to help you file than it is to get your claims fixed. Three frequent mistakes made by members are: 1. Filling out the information about the union hiring hall. UAW LOCAL 2000 IS NOT A HIRING HALL. Please do not check ANY boxes or fill in ANY information at all in the union section. 2. Answering “no” to the job search question. Whether or not you have a mass layoff number, if they ask for jobs you applied for, you must provide that information. PLEASE DO NOT EVER ANSWER “NO” TO THAT QUESTION IF IT IS ASKED OF YOU OR YOU WILL NOT GET PAID. 3. Forgetting to file for benefits or going in once to reopen the claim but not returning the second time to actually claim the week. We give complete step by step instructions for filing and it’s important that members follow them. Please follow instructions carefully to avoid your benefits being held up!
