UPCOMING PAID HOLIDAYS: OHAP UNIT 1 CHRISTMAS / NEW YEAR PAID HOLIDAYS: Ohio Assembly Plant will shut down for the Christmas holiday period on Thursday, December 23rd (at the completion of the 3rd shift) and will not resume normal production until Tuesday, January 18th. It is important that you understand the general eligibility rules on Christmas holiday pay: A seniority employee absent without excuse on either the last scheduled working day prior to or the next scheduled working day after the Christmas holiday period shall be ineligible for one of the holidays for which he/she would otherwise be eligible in the holiday period. If an eligible employee misses both the scheduled day before and the scheduled day after, he/she will not be eligible for any Christmas holiday pay. Seniority employees who have gone on sick leave during the workweek prior to or during the workweek in which the holiday(s) falls shall receive pay for such holiday period. GOSSER SCHOLARSHIP INVITATIONAL GOLF CLASSIC: One foursome from our membership is needed to golf in the Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Invitational on Sunday, August 1st at Thunderbird Hills Golf Course, 1316 Mudbrook Road, Huron, Ohio 44839. The entry fee for the outing is prepaid. Members must bring a list of their team members (including team members’ addresses and phone numbers) to the union hall or email your list to linda@uawlocal2000.org now through Monday, July 26th. A random drawing will be held on Tuesday, July 27th at 4:00 PM. Lost time or expenses will not be paid for attending.
