As you know, Chairperson Tim Rowe has been selected for the National Contract Negotiating Team and will be serving in Detroit until a National Agreement is negotiated. Bargaining Representative Herb Bennett will be replacing Tim as acting Chairperson during this time. Best wishes to Tim as he works with the National Negotiating Team to achieve a National Agreement we can all be proud of and best wishes to Herb as he performs the Chairperson’s duties during his period of national contract negotiations.


UNION INVOLVEMENT: Any members interested in becoming alternate members on any of UAW Local 2000’s standing committees or members interested in attending union educational training should contact President Bill Samples at 440.934.3151, extension 1.


MARCH OF DIMES IPAD RAFFLE: Tickets to win an Apple iPad Mini Wi-Fi 16gb (Silver) will be sold daily at lunch and in the evening at the ERC office, $5 for 6 tickets. The drawing will be held July 23rd at 1:00 PM. Please get your tickets now and help to support this important charity!


UAW FAMILY NIGHT WITH LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS v. TRAVERSE CITY BEACH BUMS is Friday, July 24th at 7:05 PM at All Pro Freight Stadium. Home box tickets are $5.00 each and food vouchers (includes hot dog, chip and a pop) are an additional $5.00. The game will be followed by a fireworks display. Tickets will be sold at OHAP on July 20th between 8:30 to 12:00 noon and 4:30 to 9:00 PM. UAW LOCAL 2000 PICNIC AT CEDAR POINT & SOAK CITY is Sunday, August 9th. Tickets are $26 each for ages 3+ (children under 3 do not need admission or meal ticket). The picnic will be at Point Pavilion between 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM and Bingo will be from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM. All you can eat meal tickets for adults and seniors are $18 each and meal tickets for kids 10 years old and under are $13. Drink wristbands are $8 each and parking is $12 per vehicle. Tickets will be sold at Ohio Assembly Plant on Wednesday, July 15th. Please see Pedro Natal for further information.


CORRECT ADDRESSES & PHONE NUMBERS NEEDED: Too often, our members are unnecessarily terminated when the company cannot get pertinent, time sensitive information to them or the union cannot get important information to them because we do not have current contact information. Any time you have an address and/or phone number change, please go to the human resources office and call the union hall at 440.934.3151 Ext. 21 to update your information as soon as possible.


BJ’S MEMBERSHIP/RENEWALS: Please contact Tim Otten at 440.396.5446 weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to get your discounted BJ’s membership or to renew your current membership for $35, which includes a years’ membership (regular cost $50) for two cards (two people). He can add new memberships or renew memberships over the telephone, eliminating the waiting period you experience when choosing to mail the membership application/renewal form. If you choose to mail the form, they are available at the union hall in the doorway to the left in the BJ’s folder.


GENERAL MEMBERSHIP AND VOITH UNIT MEETINGS: Due to Executive Board action in June, the Voith Unit and General Membership Meetings in August are cancelled. The next General Membership Meeting is Sunday, September 13th at 2:30 PM at UAW Local 2000, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village. The next Voith Unit Meeting is at the same location on the same date and begins at 1:00 PM.
