BY-LAW CHANGES: Changes to the UAW Local 2000 By-Laws will be voted on at the June 12, 2016 General Membership Meeting. Please see REVERSE SIDE of this bulletin for details.

$1,500.00 INFLATION BONUS LUMP SUM PAYMENT: Members will receive the $1,500.00 Inflation Bonus lump sum payment, payable during week ending June 12, 2016. Eligible members are defined as active with seniority, on temporary layoff status, on Family and Medical Act leave or on a leave of absence that began not earlier than 90 days prior to the eligibility date.

UAW LOCAL 2000 RICHARD T. GOSSER $10,000.00 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER: This year, we are pleased to announce that Briana Casanova, daughter of UAW Local 2000 member Donald Casanova, was 1 of 12 students to be awarded a $10,000.00 scholarship from the Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Award Program. Congratulations to Briana and her parents for receiving this generous college scholarship award!

13TH ANNUAL UAW REGION 2-B RICHARD T. GOSSER SCHOLARSHIP INVITATIONAL GOLF CLASSIC: One foursome is needed from our membership to golf in Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Invitational on Sunday, July 31st at the Thunderbird Hills Golf Club in Huron, Ohio. The entry fee for the outing is prepaid. Those interested must bring a list of their team members (including team members’ addresses and phone numbers) to the union hall now through Friday, June 17th during normal business hours (8:30 AM to 12:00 PM (noon) and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM). A random drawing will be held on Monday, June 20th at 4:00 PM at the union hall for one team to represent Local 2000. Lost time or expenses will not be paid for attending. NEXT PAID HOLIDAY – MEMORIAL DAY: MONDAY, MAY 30TH: Unit 1 OHAP: Members on the 4-day work schedule will be paid ten (10) hours’ holiday pay. Members on the 5-day work schedule will be paid eight (8) hours’ holiday pay. You must work Tuesday (the day after the holiday) or have a proper excuse to be paid holiday pay. Unit 3 Voith: Members must work their regularly scheduled shift immediately prior to and their regularly scheduled shift following the holiday. Unit 4 Source Providers: To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must work their regularly scheduled work day both preceding and following the holiday.

LOCAL 2000 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE ANNUAL LABOR DAY FAMILY CELEBRATION: This year’s event is already being planned for Sunday, September 4th. Volunteers are needed for setting up the day of the event, working the food line the day of the event and cleaning up the day after the event. The first 50 volunteers will receive a free commemorative t-shirt. If you are interested in volunteering for this year’s event, please contact Joe at 440.934.3151, extension 2 to sign up and give your t-shirt size. Please see Linda at the union hall to donate $5 to the event and have your name published in the event program as a sponsor.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The next General Membership Meeting will be Sunday, June 12th at 2:30 PM at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village, Ohio. Membership meetings are always held on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 2:30 PM, unless members are notified otherwise. Please attend and be informed.

A VOTE ON THE FOLLOWING PROPOSED BY-LAW CHANGES WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE JUNE 12, 2016 GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING:

ARTICLE 4 MEMBERSHIP, ELIGIBILITY, DUES, INITIATION FEES, ETC.

Section 3. The initiation fee shall be fifty twenty-five dollars ($50 $25). Dues per month shall be two (2) and one half (2 1/2) hours base rate of pay including cost of living. Any delinquent Member not considered in good standing shall be subject to a re-admission fee of fifty twenty-five dollars ($50 $25).

ARTICLE 10 NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS

Section 7. (K) Procedure for Limited Absentee Balloting The procedure that may be adopted by the Local Union, U.A.W. prior to nominations in any election in which such rules would apply, is as follows: (1) A Member who will be away from his Local Union during the entire period of an election or ratification vote of Executive Board Officers or Convention Delegates, (a) on a work assignment for his employer (b) on Local Union business, (c) on scheduled vacation may apply for an absentee ballot by filing with his Local Union by mail (registered or certified), or in person, a signed statement that he will be away from his Local Union for the entire period of the election or ratification vote. on a work assignment by his employer or on Local Union business. Such statement or request must be filed with the Local Union in sufficient time for the Member to secure a ballot and re-deposit same with the Local Union prior to the start of the election or ratification vote. (2) Upon such certified application, the Local Union shall immediately provide the Member with a ballot and two envelopes, one return-addressed. The Member shall place his marked ballot in the unmarked envelope and enclose it in the return-addressed envelope. (3) The ballot, as indicated, may then be presented to the Local Union in person or as contained in the return-addressed envelope returned by mail (registered or certified). However, under either circumstance, the ballot must be received by the Local Union before the start of the election or ratification vote.

ARTICLE 22 GENERAL MISCELLANEOUS

Section 9. RATIFICATION PROCEDURE Local Unit Ratification procedure will be conducted to permit each unit to vote separately on those agreements specific to their unit. Absentee balloting as outlined in Article 10, Section 7 (K).
