UNEMPLOYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

File for unemployment benefits online at http://unemployment.ohio.gov. If you do not have internet access, call your processing center (the number is located on correspondence you’ve received from the ODJFS). ODJFS business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, except holidays. Please follow the instructions below:

File for unemployment benefits using Mass Layoff # 2100079. Your last day worked is 03/19/2021 and your return to work date is 03/29/2021.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to call your processing center or visit the ODJFS web site a total of TWO (2) TIMES:

1. SUNDAY, MARCH 21, 2021 – Open or restart application for benefits

2. SUNDAY, MARCH 28, 2021 – Claim layoff week (week ending 03/27/2021)

PLEASE NOTE: Since you were recently laid off, you will likely have an issue with choosing the CORRECT week you need to reopen your application. If the correct date IS NOT listed, hang up or log out and call your processing center because they will need to reset your weeks. When you call them, be sure to tell them you need them to reopen your APPLICATION or they will open a claim for the WRONG WEEK. Please keep trying to get through because we can’t fix the “wrong date” issue here at the union hall. That is a glitch in the ODJFS’s system. Calling your processing center is the only way to get that issue fixed.
