NEXT PAID HOLIDAYS

OHAP uNIT 1 Christmas / New Year paid holidays: Ohio Assembly Plant will shut down for the Christmas holiday period on Wednesday, December 23rd (at the completion of the 3rd shift) and will not resume normal production until Monday, January 4th. It is important that you understand the general eligibility rules on Christmas holiday pay: A seniority employee absent without excuse on either the last scheduled working day prior to or the next scheduled working day after the Christmas holiday period shall be ineligible for one of the holidays for which he/she would otherwise be eligible in the holiday period. If an eligible employee misses both the scheduled day before and the scheduled day after, he/she will not be eligible for any Christmas holiday pay. Seniority employees who have gone on sick leave during the workweek prior to or during the workweek in which the holiday(s) falls shall receive pay for such holiday period. A seniority employee who is on sick leave when the holiday(s) occurs, who would return to work following the holiday(s), but during the week in which the holiday(s) falls, shall receive pay for such holiday(s).

UNIT 1 TPT MEMBERS LAID OFF DURING HOLIDAY PERIOD: If you are eligible to receive holiday pay, you do not need to file for unemployment benefits. If you are not receiving holiday pay, you must file for benefits. Please remember, you will be either making TWO calls or visiting the ODJFS web site TWICE. File online at: http://unemployment.ohio.gov (accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). If you do not have internet access: Call 1-877-644-6562 (business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, except holidays). On Sunday, December 27th, you will open your claim for benefits. On Sunday, January 3rd, you will claim week ending January 2nd.

UNION OFFICES CLOSED: UAW Local 2000 and all UAW International and regional offices will close on Wednesday, December 23rd and reopen on Monday, January 4th. The benefits office will also be closed. HUMAN RESOURCES will also be closed throughout the entire Christmas holiday period.

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY – Monday, January 18th: Unit 1 OHAP – You must work the day after the holiday or have an excused absence for that day to receive holiday pay. Unit 3 Leadec – You must work your regularly scheduled shift immediately prior to and your regularly scheduled shift following the holiday. Unit 4 Source Providers – You must work your nearest scheduled work day both preceding and following the holiday. Unit 5 Detroit Chassis - You must work on the nearest scheduled workday, both preceding and following the holiday.

OHAP H-LINE UNEMPLOYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE BE ADVISED: You MUST follow the instructions below very carefully and file in a timely manner or YOU WILL NOT BE PAID UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS, as ODJFS is no longer back dating claims.

File for unemployment benefits online at http://unemployment.ohio.gov. If you do not have internet access, call your processing center (the number is located on correspondence you’ve received from the ODJFS). ODJFS business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, except holidays. Please follow the instructions below:

File for unemployment benefits using Mass Layoff # 2000710. For unemployment purposes, your last day worked is 01/01/2021 and your return to work date is 01/18/21. We have Martin Luther King Jr. Day off as a paid holiday, so you will actually return to work on Tuesday, January 19th.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to call your processing center or visit the ODJFS web site a total of THREE (3) TIMES:

1. SUNDAY, JANUARY 3, 2021 – OPEN OR RESTART APPLICATION FOR BENEFITS

2. SUNDAY, JANUARY 10, 2021 – CLAIM LAYOFF WEEK (WEEK ENDING 01/09/2021)

3. SUNDAY, JANUARY 17, 2021 – CLAIM LAYOFF WEEK (WEEK ENDING 01/16/2021)
