ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD. There are many important offices and issues on the ballot that will ultimately affect us all. Please research the issues and vote for candidates who support workers and all middle class Americans.

FROM REGION 2-B REPRESENTATIVE TIM LEVANDUSKY: Our Get Out to Vote phone banks are set up at Local 1005 from 11 AM to 8 PM now until Election Day. Volunteers are needed to man these phones, so please support our GOTV and volunteer. Thank you for your continued efforts. It is people like you that make a difference. LUNCH WITH SANTA: The Women’s Committee is sponsoring Lunch with Santa on Sunday, December 6th from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at UAW Local 2192 (the old Local 425 union hall), 5300 Baumhart Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053. Tickets are $10 each and will be sold by Women’s Committee members at the plant on Thursday, November 12th and Thursday, November 19th in both the main cafeteria and the old cafeteria from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Tickets will be sold by Women’s Committee members at UAW Local 2000 union hall on THREE Fridays: November 6th, November 13th and November 20th from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Please have a list of the child(ren)’s first and last name(s), age(s) and gender(s) with you when you purchase tickets.

THE Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive Benefit Spaghetti Dinner IS ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST at Amherst Eagles, 1161 Milan Avenue from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Adult tickets are $10, senior tickets are $7 and children under 10 are free. Tickets will be sold at the plant by ERCs Amy Jaynes Brown and Annette Fuller and are also available at the union hall. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese raffle. Please bring a non-perishable food item with you to the dinner. Proceeds collected from the spaghetti dinner will benefit the Thanksgiving dinner distribution for those less fortunate in our community. If you would like to donate something for the silent auction, please contact Amy at 440.933.1516 or Annette at 440.933.1382. Donated silent auction items must be turned in by October 23rd to Amy or Annette at OHAP or to Linda at UAW Local 2000.

FEED THE NEEDY GATE COLLECTION: The annual gate collection will be held October 29th to collect money to purchase food for the less fortunate within Lorain County. There will also be a lottery board raffled off at the plant during the month of November.

Please bring a non-perishable food item with you when you attend the November and December Local 2000 membership meetings, UAW-CAP meetings and retiree meetings and/or the retiree Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to help us in our effort to help those less fortunate throughout the upcoming holiday season.

UAW LOCAL 2000 KNIT HATS: Please call President Bill Samples at 440.934.3151 extension 1 if you would like to order any of the red and white or red and gray knit hats. We have a limited supply of extras.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP AND VOITH UNIT MEETINGS: The next General Membership Meeting is Sunday, November 8th at 2:30 PM at UAW Local 2000, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village. The next Voith Unit Meeting is at the same location on the same date and begins at 1:00 PM.
