UNIT 1 OHAP
UNEMPLOYMENT INFORMATION: PLEASE READ THESE
INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AND CALL THE UNION HALL OR HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT IF
YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. You must file for unemployment online at
http://unemployment.ohio.gov or call your processing center. If your week ending date is not available
online or via phone, call your processing center and ask a LIVE PERSON to file
it for you. ODJFS business hours
are 8:00 - 5:00 Monday through Friday, except holidays.
B CREW (NIGHT SHIFT): You will be laid off for ONE
(1) WEEK using Mass Layoff # 1700753. Your last day will be 01/05/2018 and your return to work date
will be 01/15/2018 (for unemployment purposes). You will call to file or file online a
total of TWO (2) times: On Sunday,
01/07/2018, you will reopen or file an additional claim. On Sunday, 01/14/2018, you will claim week ending 01/13/2018. Your ACTUAL
return to work date is 01/16/2018 due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on
01/15/18. You must return to work on 1/16/18 to receive your holiday pay or
have an excused absence. **DO NOT CLAIM WEEK ENDING 12/30/17
BECAUSE YOU ARE BEING PAID BY THE COMPANY FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEK AND DO NOT CLAIM
WEEK ENDING 01/06/2018 BECAUSE YOU WILL BE PAID SHORT WORK WEEK DUE TO NEW
YEARS DAY.**
If you do not make application and file your claim correctly
and within the ODJFS’s defined time period, they will not pay your benefit for
the layoff week(s). Appeals for failing
to file timely are seldom won and we want to be sure everyone is paid their due
benefit. Full details and instructions from the ODJFS are available in
human resources and at the union hall. The ODJFS instructions will also be
posted on our website at www.uawlocal2000.org.
WAITING
WEEK INFORMATION: Unit 1 OHAP members who were on layoff status and
serving their waiting week will be denied unemployment. You must go to the
ODJFS web site and print your unemployment benefit payment documents showing
ZERO amount paid as well as the document under the “Claim Details” section,
“View Claim Summary/Payment History” that shows “WW Served” as the most current
status and take them to Human Resources to sign up for your SUB pay. If you aren’t able to print your paystub
showing ZERO AMOUNT PAID, print ANYTHING from the ODJFS with your Social
Security number on it and use that instead. Signing up for SUB this time
will start your auto SUB for one year in the event of future layoffs.
Members on TLO who have exhausted their unemployment benefits must
do the following: 1) Once logged into the ODJFS web page, print the
MAIN PAGE, which states that “No weekly claims can currently be filed. You have
exhausted your total benefits payable.” 2) Go to the VIEW CLAIM SUMMARY/PAYMENT
SUMMARY PAGE and print that out. 3) Go to VIEW DETERMINATION NOTICES and print
out your last paystub. 4) Take all THREE
(3) pages to Labor Relations and you will be able to sign up for SUB pay.
The company has agreed to allow you to sign SUB cards for the remainder of the
month, so you won’t have to take the paperwork in every week. In other words,
you will only be required to bring this information once a month instead of
weekly. If you have any questions/concerns, please call President Bill Samples
at 440.934.3151, extension 1.
UAW LOCAL 2000
MOTORCYCLE COMMITTEE would like to thank everyone for the donations they brought in for the
Neighborhood Alliance homeless shelter. Your participation made a positive
difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate in our community.
