MEMBERS OF UAW LOCAL 2000 STRIKE DUTY INSTRUCTIONS

(IN THE EVENT OF A NATIONAL STRIKE)

National negotiations are continuing. Since negotiations have continued past the deadline without a strike, the membership will be kept informed through future information bulletins.

In the event that a strike deadline is given, official picket assignments will be located in the union office at the 28 Aisle, at the local union hall and on our web site at www.uawlocal2000.org. Your Bargaining Reps and Committeepersons will have a complete roster for the first day of the strike. It is your obligation to contact the local union hall for the times and dates of your strike assignments (440.934.3151).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR STRIKE BENEFITS:

Ø YOU MUST PARTICIPATE in a strike activity assigned to you by the local union on the dates and times specified (picket duty, etc.). There are no exceptions to this rule.

Ø YOU MUST REGISTER and make application for strike benefits on the day and time assigned to you.

Ø You shall accumulate strike assistance credits beginning with the 8th day of the strike.

Ø Beginning on the 15th day of the strike, strike benefit checks shall be made available to the membership. Weekly benefits are $200.00 (regardless of status). If on strike, your group life, transition bridge and group medical-hospital insurance premiums will be paid from the international union’s strike fund, excluding dental, vision, audio and sick and accident premium.

Ø Checks, when issued, must be picked up on your scheduled day and time or you will lose it. You must sign for your check each week and no one can pick it up for you. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Ø You must have proper identification with you (Ford ID, driver’s license or UAW ID card).

Ø Full eligibility rules have already been distributed in the plant.

Our strike assistance and picket duty headquarters will be located at UAW Local 2000, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village. Please note: Each member must comply with ALL strike assistance rules as stated above. There are no exceptions. More information will follow, if necessary.
