Eligibility for holiday pay will be based on the days that you are scheduled to work from Monday, December 19th through Friday, December 23rd. If you work one day, you will claim $126.64, if you work two days, you will claim $253.28 and if you work three days, you will claim $379.92. If your unemployment weekly benefit is lower than the amount you claim for holiday pay, you will be denied benefits based on the fact that your income exceeds your eligible benefit amount. Employees scheduled and worked on December 19, 2016 will be eligible for holiday pay for January 2, 2017. Employees that were not scheduled and did not work December 19, 2016 will not be eligible for holiday pay for January 2, 2017.


If you still wish to file based on the information above, you must file for benefits using mass layoff number 1600764. Your last day worked will be December 23, 2016 and your return to work date will be January 2, 2017 for unemployment purposes (but your actual return to work date is January 3rd). Please remember, you will be either making TWO calls or visiting the ODJFS web site TWICE. File online at: (accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). If you do not have internet access: Call 1-877-644-6562 (business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, except holidays). On Sunday, December 25th, 2016 restart or open a claim. On Sunday, January 1st, 2017, claim week ending December 31, 2016. Do not claim any weeks afterward.


STS employees who meet the requirements will receive holiday pay for the week of December 26th -30th, 2016 and January 2, 2017. Therefore, STS employees will not file for unemployment.


UPDATED OVERTIME WORK SCHEDULE: The following Fridays and Saturdays are tentatively scheduled: Friday, December 23rd, Friday, January 20th, Friday and Saturday, January 27th and 28th, Friday and Saturday, February 24th and 25th, Friday and Saturday, March 3rd and 4th, Friday, March 10th, Friday and Saturday, March 17th & 18th, Friday and Saturday, March 24th and 25th, Friday, March 31st, Friday and Saturday, April 7th and 8th, Friday and Saturday, April 21st and 22nd, Friday and Saturday, April 28th and 29th, Friday, May 5th, Friday and Saturday, May 12th and 13th, Friday and Saturday, May 19th and 20th, Friday, May 26th and Friday and Saturday, June 2nd and 3rd. FIVE OVERTIME DAYS HAVE BEEN CANCELED IN JANUARY: Friday and Saturday, January 6th and 7th, Friday and Saturday, January 13th and 14th and Saturday, January 21st. The lost production will be made up at a later date. Please remember, tentative schedules are subject to change.


MARTIN LUTHER KING HOLIDAY is Monday, January 16th: Unit 1 OHAP – You must work the day after the holiday or have an excused absence for that day to receive holiday pay. Unit 3 Voith – To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must work their regularly scheduled shift immediately prior to and their regularly scheduled shift following the holiday. Unit 4 Source Providers – To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must work their nearest scheduled work day both preceding and following the holiday. Unit 5 – Detroit Chassis - To be eligible for holiday pay, the employee must work on the nearest scheduled workday, both preceding and following the holiday.
