MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY is Monday, January 20th: Unit 1 OHAP – You must work the day after the holiday or have an excused absence for that day to receive holiday pay. Unit 3 Leadec – To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must work their regularly scheduled shift immediately prior to and their regularly scheduled shift following the holiday. Unit 4 Source Providers – To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must work their nearest scheduled work day both preceding and following the holiday. Unit 5 – Detroit Chassis - To be eligible for holiday pay, the employee must work on the nearest scheduled workday, both preceding and following the holiday.
ELECTION COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS: Nominations for a standing Election Committee consisting of nine (9) members shall take place at the February 9th General Membership Meeting, which will start promptly at 2:30 PM. Anyone interested in running for the Election Committee MUST be nominated at the February 9th General Membership Meeting at the local union hall. Nomination acceptance and denial forms will be available at the meeting. If you are nominated, you must fill out either an acceptance or denial form before leaving the meeting. Forms will also be available at the union hall beginning Monday, February 12th and must be completed and returned to the union hall no later than Friday, February 21st. **PLEASE NOTE: You cannot run for the Election Committee if you are planning to run for an elected position in the upcoming General Election.
ELECTION COMMITTEE ELECTION: The Election Committee Election will be held at the local union hall at the March 8th General Membership Meeting. Polls will be open from 12:00 PM (noon) to 5:00 PM.
GENERAL ELECTION: The General Election will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2020 from 12:00 PM (noon) until Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 12:00 PM (noon) (24 hours). The Run-Off Election (if necessary) will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 12:00 PM (noon) until Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 12:00 PM (noon) (24 hours). Further details will be communicated in upcoming bulletins and postings.
OHAP NIGHT SHIFT H-LINE UNEMPLOYMENT INSTRUCTIONS: File for unemployment online with the instructions below at http://unemployment.ohio.gov or if you do not have internet access, call your processing center (the number is located on correspondence you’ve received from the ODJFS). ODJFS business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, except holidays. Below are the instructions for filing for unemployment:
You will file for unemployment benefits using Mass Layoff # 2000017. You will be paid short work week for the week of January 20th due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday so do not reopen your claim until Sunday, 01/26/2020. Your last day worked for unemployment purposes is 01/24/2020 and your return to work date is 02/10/2020. You will need to call your processing center or visit the ODJFS web site a total of THREE TIMES:
1. SUNDAY, JANUARY 26, 2020 – OPEN OR RESTART APPLICATION FOR BENEFITS 2. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2020 – CLAIM LAYOFF WEEK (WEEK ENDING 02/01/2020) 3. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2020 – CLAIM LAYOFF WEEK (WEEK ENDING 02/08/2020)
***Please note: If you are not given the correct application open/reopen date or the correct week ending date you need to claim, log out and call your processing center on Monday and tell them you would like them to open/ reopen your application or take your claim (whichever is the case) via phone. If you do not follow these instructions and file timely, you will not be paid or your waiting week will not be served.
