UNIT 1 OHAP UNEMPLOYMENT
INFORMATION: You must file for unemployment online at
http://unemployment.ohio.gov or if you do not have internet access, call your
processing center number, which is located at the top right of most
correspondence you receive from ODJFS. ODJFS
business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Monday – Friday, except holidays.
A CREW (DAY SHIFT): You will be laid off for THREE (3) WEEKS using Mass Layoff # 1800397. Your last day worked
will be 09/21/2018 and your return to work date will be 10/15/2018.
You will call to file or file online a total of FOUR (4) times: On Sunday, 09/23/2018,
you will reopen or file an additional claim. On Sunday, 09/30/2018, you will file a claim for week ending 09/29/2018. On
Sunday, 10/07/2018, you will file a
claim for week ending 10/06/2018. On Sunday, 10/14/2018, you will file a claim for week ending 10/13/2018.
Do not wait until the Saturday
following your layoff week to make application for benefits because there is a
chance that you may encounter a technical problem that could force you to file
your application late. If you do not
make application and file your claim correctly and within the ODJFS’s defined
time period, they will not pay your benefit for the layoff week(s).
Appeals are seldom won and we want to be sure members receive their

WOMENS COMMITTEE TRUNK OR TREAT is Saturday, October 20th from
1 – 3 PM at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall. Tickets are $2 and can be purchased from
committee members or at the union hall. Committee members are also asking for
volunteers to pass out and/or donate candy. There will be games, food, a
costume contest and basket raffles. Please dress in your best costume!
Thanksgiving Food Drive Benefit Spaghetti Dinner IS ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER
4TH at Amherst Eagles, 1161 Milan Avenue from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Adult tickets are $10, senior
tickets are $7 and children under 10 are free. Tickets will be sold at the plant by ERC Amy
Jaynes Brown, Bobbie Bell, Kelly Knight, Clyde Hescox and Dianna Brezina and they
will also be available at the union hall. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and
a Chinese raffle. Please bring a non-perishable food item with you to the
dinner. Proceeds collected from the spaghetti dinner will benefit the
Thanksgiving dinner distribution for those less fortunate in our community. If
you would like to donate something for the silent auction, please contact ERC
Amy Jaynes-Brown at 440.933.1516. Donated silent auction items must
be turned in by Thursday, November 1st to Amy Jaynes Brown at OHAP
or to Linda Lynch at UAW Local 2000. ON FRIDAY,
NOVEMBER 16, there will be a gate collection AND DURING THE WEEKS OF NOvember 13
& 19TH, THERE WILL BE an in-plant basket raffle. Further
details will be communicated at a later date.
